How often do you see other electric bikes?
« on: January 26, 2019, 01:43:14 AM »

I live in the SF Bay Area and I really expected to see a lot more Zero's around. As it is I've only ever seen 3 not at the dealership. With such a huge amount of other EV's in this area (I can't count the number of Teslas, Leafs, and Bolts I see every day) you'd think there's be more Zero's around as well.

I passed a White DS(R?) yesterday in the city. I think it's the same DS I see occasionally parked in a lot near Moscone.

I parked next to an orange DS in San Jose once, we were both charging in a public lot across from the convention center.

Another red SR passed me while I was splitting on 24 once.

I also occasionally see one of those BMW Scooters in the area.

I'm in SF and ride my black DSR with fairings and extra charging units. We're here.

It's harder to notice electric motorcycles because there's no noise to raise awareness ahead of time.

But also yes these bikes are rare compared to EV cars.

How often do you see electric bikes around?

Used to see a guy pretty regularly on California, would do wheelies on an FX.

There's a Zero that parks on 7th St. that I see pretty regularly, as well as one that parks on California.

Mine's not really that noticable on the street, it's usually under a cover, and it doesn't look like a Zero with all the utilitarian customizations I do, most of the plastics are in storage not getting sun-faded.  The other ones I know of park in garages.

I rarely see a Zero on the road, but I sure have been seeing a lot of Tesla Model 3s in the SF Bay Area lately.

Every couple of days. Mostly BMW Evo. I also see 5-6 Zeros per year.

I have never seen another Zero in the wild. However I have had several people comment on or ask about my bike, so that's fun!

I rarely see a Zero on the road, but I sure have been seeing a lot of Tesla Model 3s in the SF Bay Area lately.
Same here. I was at the SuperChargers (just to find them) last Saturday in the "San Francisco Outlets" mall in Livermore.  They had 24 Tesla Superchargers &  every one of them was used, with others waiting for them.  I never expected to see so many Model 3's in Livermore.

I had no problem SuperCharging in San Jose, but that was on Sunday night. It was about 60% full.

I have seen two other Zero's here in Reno,  but neither were random "in the wild". One was Shadow's and the other I met at the EV event here in Reno last September.

In Auburn, CA, I have never seen another Zero in the area. Closest Zero dealer to there is in Oak Grove.

BTW, here in Reno, the new cycle store, EuroCyles, now has a few Zeros in.  They are the only ones to sell  new Zeros here in Reno.

There is a Zero rep that lives in my neighborhood, and I see his truck all the time but as far as I can recall I have never seen another electric bike on the road except at the two dealerships I've visited in the course of my wanderings. Loads of EVs though. You don't see that many motorcycles relative to the number of cars so it's really not surprising. I think in Europe it's a different story.

I KNOW my dealer has sold more than just the one to me, but so far in my area at least, I've never seen another eBike on the road.  HOWEVER two years ago when I took a cruise up into New England and Nova Scotia, at a shore excursion stop in Portland, ME I did see two Zeros parked on the street.  One was an FX, and the other was a DS.

Oh, and I see Harlan's Cafe Racer sometimes, it was sold to someone who lives or comes to San Francisco pretty regularly.

I've also seen a BMW C-Evolution in the wild, once.

Guy was beside me at a stoplight, said he liked it.

Only time I've ever seen an electric bike on the street was in Key West last year.
It was a really neat one to see in person, though.  1 of 32 Icon X Brammo Spec32

Almost never, and in the epicenter of Silicon Valley. Maybe once per year. I feel they would catch on rapidly if they had the range to go on weekend day rides.
