Zero DSR - Charging Cable
« on: October 26, 2018, 10:11:27 PM »

Hello guys,

I'm looking to get a charge cable to juice up whilst out and about, no idea what i need to buy but this looks like it could do the trick.

https://www.evchargeking.com/en/zero-motorcycle-evtricity-public-charging-cable

Question is do i need the 16amp or the 32amp..

I just want to plug into the side using the "PC monitor" type cable/connection.

Any advice would be much appreciated....

The Zero product is a J1772 plug.

Mind which type-2 power plug you need to access for your bike.

FYI, the stock/onboard charger will only draw 7A (amps) from 200-240V AC power sources in those type 2 stations. So the EVTricity cables are overrated for this job (either will do).

I assume you live in Europe or you're really off-base with your cable choice  ;D

The mennekes --> dual C19 adapter you linked is way overpowered and overpriced for your needs if all you really want to do is grab a single phase off of the Mennekes connector into a C13 connector.

If I were you, I'd probably get a [Mennekes] --> [1x C13 + 2x [C13 or C19] connectors for future quick charge adapters]; I have something similar that I use personally (mine is J1772 --> 1xC13 + 2x C19 with very different internal wiring because the united states is the worst and doesn't do 3-phase L2 AC charging).

If you are dead set on never owning any quick chargers, even a quick googling reveals tons of mennekes -> solo C13 connector plugs that are cheaper ( https://www.laadkabelfabriek.nl/product/laadkabel-type-2-male-naar-c13-apparaatstekker/ was the first one I happened to see)

If "Billy Bob" is from Europe I am truly disoriented.
