I am curious who is the third Zero motorcycle that registered for Reno, NV.
I am one, Shadow is one other, whom is the third?
That other bloke showed off his stock 2016 SR and it was the cleanest Zero I've seen with 1400 miles on it except maybe Anton's (but then not totally stock for comparison at all and probably more miles). Even the seat bolts and axle nuts still had their witness marks in place from the factory!
Why do you people wash your motorcycles and coddle them to keep the dirt away? I don't understand!
Joking aside I got recognized by my friend and Squaw Valley Ski Resort co-worker who'd brought his Tesla Model 3. There were many TM3's present at this Reno event actually, though on his I got to crawl around in the trunk and pretend to be car camping. When Tesla makes the towbar and air suspension available on the TM3 ordering process I'm !@#$ well much more convinced to buy one as my winter escape vehicle for the ranch. Comparable to all the vehicles there I looked at the later-model Toyota Rav4EV that had the *best* clearances and approach angles of any vehicle present; its owner bought off CarMax and said that is no longer possible to find one that way they are quite difficult to obtain but it was not much of an issue when he got his used for about $20k USD some years ago. For the Tesla Model 3 I would say approach angles could be comparable if it had the same clearances although the nose is longer it is not as much of an obstacle versus the Model X. I mean, what I'm talking about on this tangent is towing some EV motorbikes and when several feet of mud and snow make it impossible entirely to ride any 2 wheeled vehicle to not have to keep a hillbilly pickup truck around just for that. I'd got into buying my Zero and learning to ride motorcycle for it simply because I'm waiting (and still waiting!) for some kind of 4x4 vehicle that can handle some off-road shenanigans.
Other 2-wheeled vehicles present: Sondors folding pedal-assist bike. Several stand-up pedestrian scooters. Nice guy on a traditional kind of motorbike with a long history of checking out the NDEW event for Reno and shared with me some insight into what it's been like in past years. There are fewer DIY builders showing up to the events as the mainstream becomes more EV-heavy.
I let some people who seemed to have moto experience take my '16 DSR for a spin around the block. It was hellah easier than trying to explain what's so interesting about it. For people who hesitated or were interested but at my judgement clearly not moto people I put them on the pillion seat to go for a ride with me. A lot of failure to explain with words what the experience was like other than ....
AND THEN THE GUY WITH THE TESLA P100D GOES LIKE THIS: Y'all want a ride in my TESLA P100D? There's an open seat!
So I volunteered Don. Ha ha ha.... into the only ride there significantly quicker than a Zero Motorcycle 'R. Wish I'd taken pictures and specifically one of the ridiculous grin he had coming back from the 'sla.
