Dumb Dog
« on: March 09, 2018, 03:00:20 AM »

Son several months ago I had posted that I found two wire behind my headlight and had no idea where they went. One blue and the other white with green. You guys were great in telling me it was for the ABS. Silly me didn't realize the ABS light had been on. Anyway just a few weeks ago I noticed my heated grip cable was broken too. My dumb dog has been chewing on the wires on my motorcycle. I found two wire (blue and white with green) coming from the rear brake and another frayed cable near the mother that is also blue and white with green. Duh, I bought more wire and tried to solder them back together to the best of my ability. On my front tire is two frayed blue and white with green wires coming from the front brakes as well. I figured that connected to the wires that I found behind my headlight so I did the same and soldered new wires there. If anyone could help me out or know if that was the correct thing to do that would be great. The ABS light is still on. Maybe I didn't do something correctly or I missed a step. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Some pics to help everyone understand exactly what you did would be really helpful.

I re-soldered two wires to the old frayed cables then wrapped it with electric tape.

Those are the ABS sensor wires. They go to other two pin connectors and change wire colors as shown here. You should disconnect the ABS unit and check continuity all the way from each sensor to the ABS unit connector.

Also, please post a picture of your dog. If possible, pic of dog chewing wires.  Also, do you own a cat?

I had a cat that liked to chew the cord on my $100 headphones. Gotta love 'em.

Ok. I’ll try that. I was just hoping that soldering two wires back in their place would correct the issue.
