I was visiting my BMW/Energica dealer today and it looked like they had sold a couple of C-Evolutions and Energicas recently. But they received a couple more C-Evolution scooters in, so BMW is shipping them out, at least to California.

But then I was told that they were dropping their prices on their remaining 2017 Energica models starting today, in preparation to receiving the 2018 models, probably in March.  The base model Eva, with no accessories, will be going for only $16,100, with corresponding drops in prices for the other models in their inventory.  (Gotta watch those factory-added accessory prices, though.)  Considering the design and technology of the Energicas that seems like quite a bargain to me.

I would buy one a heartbeat if there were a dealer somewhere on the east coast carrying them. I am tempted to fly to California just to see and test ride one (I live in Maryland).

My shop has sold at least one Energica (as well as a C-Evolution) to a customer in Texas.  They shipped it directly to them.  Of course I assume that the buyer paid the shipping costs and had to deal with local taxes and DMV fees. When I was there yesterday I saw 3 Energicas on the showroom floor.  I believe only one was a base model, the other two might have had expensive factory options that would raise the price.  There are plenty of reviews and videos showing people riding the bikes on the internet and likely a few on this forum, too. The shop has been giving potential customers test rides on their demonstrator, but apparently it hasn't generated very many local sales.  I have no idea if that is one that they are selling or if that bike is owned by Energica, like their BMW demonstrators.

I have watched many videos and reviews. I am very tempted but I can not justify buying one sight unseen or without ever sitting on one to gauge how it feels myself. When the Yamaha XSR 900 came out, I thought it was great looking bike and that I may possibly buy one, until I sat on it. It just did not feel right. Funny thing is the FZ09 felt great to me but I can't stand how it looks.

I am patient, either an Energica dealer pops up nearby or Zero introduces DC fast charging. Which ever happens first....

I contacted Energica about two weeks ago and asked if there was any way they would deliver an Eva to their Mooresville, NC headquarters which is north of Charlotte, NC. I was contacted by Stefano Benatti. They will deliver them and will service them there so that is an option for you. I talked with Stefano and he said their HQ is in a warehouse building but they could do sales and service out of it. He also said the Energica's were previously way over priced so I think the price drop you see is for good. The base Eva becomes more competitive with the Zero SR. I am looking at the Eva 107 which has the same 146 HP and 148 ft lbs of torque as the Ego. With the CCS network most of the common L2 charging I do with my Zero SR can be done with CCS. I also linked up my Zero dealer (Raleigh,NC) with Stefano and hoping they can work out a deal. Time will tell. Vinny

That sounds extremely promising. I noticed they had the HQ in North Carolina but never got around to calling like you did. Thank you very much for doing that. You just may have helped them make a sale.

I like the EVA. Wish they had them in NC. I just picked up a Zero SR. It looks like the EVA only has 11.4 kwh compared to the SR which is 13kwh which is barely enough for me to commute.

Hi chuck.  In the Energica section there was a post about east coast buyers and they said their service center was in Mooresville NC so your good.

I have the same concern - My Zero has a 15 kWh pack - I can’t imagine downsizing to an 11 kWh pack.  With the  higher torque and horse power of the Energica – imagine how quickly that 11 kWh battery would drain…

Energica is apparently using usable capacity numbers, not gross capacity as Zero does.
