Found a C13 plug that you can use for public charging stations
« on: November 17, 2015, 03:29:08 PM »

Hi all,

I've written around a bit and found a supplier near me that can produce cables that have on the charger side a L2 plug and on the motor side a C13(kettle plug) or a inlet for your own cable.
Inside the L2 plug is build in IEC 61851 support so you can use it at public charging stations to charge your bike.(and make a cup of tea while you're waiting if you bring a power strip :P)

Their price is €144 which includes shipping in the Netherlands, but if we order some together it will probably drop a bit.

So, who is interested?

What current rating will the cable support - 16A or 32A?

Can they put on an IEC19 plug and/or leave bare wires (Live, Neutral, Ground) so we can add our own plug on the bike end?

Thanks

It is rated at 16A at 230V.

I'll ask but the plug shouldn't be a problem, it takes some extra time though because that plug needs to be ordered. Without plug on the vehicle side is of course an option.

Do you have any more pics. Would like to see the "kettle" end.

Not with the kettle end, only with a schuko inlet. But you can wire pretty much anything on it what you want.

Just found another product, that sound amazing !

http://eauto.si/metron-shop/?product=adapter-type-2-3-x-schuko-16-a

1 mennekes input (i suppose triphased 16A : 11kw) and 3x 16A monophased schuko !
With electronic inside to "discuss" with the power supply

Seem perfect to plug the onboard charger + 2 external chargers (Elcon 2500 ?)

If I'm not totally mistaken it's a standard product. They are delivered with and for certain EVs. I got mine as a Renault Twizzy cable. Costs around 190€ if you order it with an option to communicate with the station (which some require).
