Blue Ridge Pkwy ad Skyline Dr ride on a S/SR?

Hi, I know a few on here have done this ride, Benswing and others.  I'm planning the trip this summer and was curious how your mileage changed with the steep hills up and down and the <35mph speed limit.  I'll be doing it 2-up and fully loaded on my SR w/PT I get 130mi on level to slight hilly rides so wondering what % loss if any I'll get in that terrain.  Thanks.  Also, any good recommendations for charging. I see one park area now has a level 2 but I'm guessing the wait will be quite a bit, especially if a Tesla had just plugged in.

dukecola, Get the Plugshare App and RV Parky for where to charge. If you look on Plugshare along that route you will see where Benswing has charged. I have taken my SR out to western NC, northern GA, eastern TN a few times. It is easy to freak out with power usage going up long hills. But you will find you get a lot back going down hills. Make sure you can have 100% regen one way or the other.There are some hills out there that you will have a higher SOC at the bottom than you had at the top. Be careful with Blink systems, if you have two Elcons you will not be able to charge at 6300 watts. I would recommend you get another J1772 plug so you can plug one Elcon into one Blink system and the other Elcon and your internal charger into another Blink system. Tesla was installing a lot of HPWC in that area and almost always also installed a J1772 system at the same time. Also make sure you have a NEMA 14-50 adapter for charging at campgrounds. Ben can add a lot more than I can.

Thanks. I'm sure Ben will chime in.  I'm not real concerned about charging as we are going to take our time, perhaps 5 days. I want to be able to plan overnight stops at lodging where I can charge overnight, in addition to opportunity charging. I use Plugshare, Chargepoint, and will bring RV Parky along too. Although if we visit a RV park, it will be to stay for the night.  Just want to make sure my total range isn't going to drop dramatically in the hills, if it is will have to plan extra charging stops. Unless my Diginow doesn't arrive, all I'll have is one Elcon and onboard.
