Hi folks,
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions regarding this problem.
I've just got a brand new 2018 SR (350km on odo) second time I've charged the bike. First time I plugged it in from 23% to full no problems (cell balance at 100% was 2-3), this time plugged it in right at 0% after a long ride. This morning I noticed the engine light on and the bike charged only to 60% (cell balance sitting at 12-14). Both times charged from the same wall plug in the garage. Seems to be discharging a lot quicker too (same ride to work took about twice as much battery %). No error codes on the dash or in the app. Going to ping the dealer if it doesn't sort itself out in a few hours.

That doesn't sound right and is something that your dealer should resolve.  My 2018 S has never had a charging problem anything like that.  It's only issue is not disconnecting the charger from the batter pack once the charging cord is unplugged, without first turning the ignition key on and off.  While my problem is pretty minor, yours sounds like much more of an issue. I would let your dealer sort it out. Let us know how he manages to fix the problem. It is probably some sort of firmware glitch.

Mine charged only to 60% after the first charge overnight. Unbeknownst to me, it was because the onboard charger failed.

Ok quick update,
Switching it on/off a couple of times I got few errors to show on the dash this time:
44 and 45 (killswitch and kickstand, that's fine), 25 and 49 (contactor open warning/disable, not sure what to do about that), 48 (SEVCON startup disable, not sure what to do about this either).

Just an idea withoutany proof from me:
try it with:
• safety switch on
• do on/off key and leave it for 15min
• Attach the charge cable
Monitor it with app to see if charging with normal Amps/power

Gborgan, I wonder if onboard charger problems stem from power fluctuations and if a small voltage regulator might help extend its life.

Hard to know. Mine is 2015 and charger failures were common then. First replacement lasted a month. 2nd lasted a year. 3rd is still working past 18 months.

Just want to thank those that responded. Issue seems to be resolved.
Few more on/off switches throughout yesterday got rid of the errors eventually. Most likely it was the already documented stuck contactor problem.
Onboard charger is still working and bike charged up to 100% again last night. Power consumption seems to also be back to normal too.
My apologies for making the noise, my concern got the better of me given I don't yet have enough experience with these things.
