A few times lately my 2015 SR suddenly went dead - light, display, motor off - all dead. It starts up again after a few seconds, but not the usual startup with counting numbers on the display. Every time it has happened at low speed and while I was doing a sharp turn.
I can manage to provoke the fault by turning the handlebar from side to side a few times. Maybe some loose connections on the wires to the steering head?
Anyone had this issue?

Yep just had it happen to me. It was the ignition switch wires broken inside the switch. It happened when I would turn right.

Take off the headlight and see if a right hand turn streches the ignition wires tight.
There is only 2 screws holding on the ignition switch and the switch comes away from the key lock part. It can be pried open and can be re-soldered.

I also found that it was cable tied to close to the ignition switch which flexed the cable to much over a short distance.

I also filled the bottom part with silicon sealent to stop it from flexing at the soldered joins so it won't happen again.

Mine's in the shop again for the same issue. I hope it's just an ignition wire!

The wire is very easy to solder, the bottom of the switch assembly just pops off and you can get to the wires. Then you can fill it with silicon sealant before you snap it back on so it won't happen again. A new switch could fail again in the future!

Thanks for the advise. Before I do that I will check with the dealer that I won't loose my warranty if I fix it myself.

I've got well over 9,000 miles on mine and haven't had that problem.  I do lots of tight turns too.  I'll be sure to post if I do.
