I've had issues with HID lights. I believe it may disrupt the CAN. I was able to solve this problem by installing a ferrite core on the HID wires, downstream of the ballast.

So now I am wondering why mine has not caused a problem, there is no ferrite core on the HID leads? Luck?

Decent projector solution. I think I'm trying this one.

@grmarks, where did you place this core exactly? In the blue high voltage (negative) wire or in the 12v negative of the ballast?

Its been a long time coming but finally here is the pic of where I mounted the HID driver box in the front wing of the fake tank
