Video Tour of Zero Motorcycles And New Info
« on: October 27, 2009, 09:04:17 PM »

Two interesting things here besides the Zero DS with nice hard panniers attached.

- 2 hour charge time for Zero DS. Website says less than 4 so I had assumed 3.75 or more hours.
- Neal mentions collaboration with big auto or large companies to mass produce the bikes.

Thanks Skadamo.  With all due respect to Neal, he does appear to have a bit of the salesman in him, as I have noticed in all the other videos he has done.  So the 2-hour re-charge figure needs to be taken with a grain of salt, along with his claim that Zero is backlogged because they can't make enough bikes to satisfy demand.   I can't make enough bikes to satisfy the amount of demand I have had either (I think somebody asked me to put together a bike for him a couple weeks ago.)

That said, if the DS had been out in August (instead of next June), I'd be driving one by now...

But one more note, I think they charge $900 for those panniers.  I'm, pretty happy with the $50 removable tail bag on the GPR-S...

True, I guess until we see 2009 sales numbers we don't know how impressive a "back log" is.

Those hard bags definitely are not cheap. They look pretty cool thought.

As far as the battery, yeah, 2 hours does not jive very well with what we have heard to this point. Kinda puts the reps in a strange position if that is the expectation and the Zero S and DS don't live up to it. Any owners care to comment on charge time?
