Two weeks after picking up my 1400 km old Zero DS '15 from the dealer, my onboard charger died. With less then 25% charge i rode 39 km distance to the dealer. I was not surprised because i did a lot of reading on this forum, and Zero isn't Honda. The guy at the dealer said, to could take a month if the part(s) where not available in Holland...

After two days, the phone rang. "Your Zero is ready sir, and fully charged"

The only thing i want now, are other tires. No off-roading here. Any suggestions? They don't need to be super sporty.
A little more mileage would be nice, maybe.

I live in Holland, too and bought my 2015 from Motoport A'dam as well.
My rear tire is gone after 5000 kms. I am considering the Michelin Anakees. I read good reviews about these tires.

What's the mileage of your tires?

BTW, if you bought your DS "zakelijk" (sorry, I don't know how to express this in English), you still can get the "Milieu Investeringsaftrek" within 3 months from the date you own the DS

I have Michelin Anakees on my BMW F650GS and love them.  They handle and are wearing well. The tread looks a little odd for a "adventure" tire, but they seem to stick and ride better than any other similar (10/90) tires that I have tired. Kind of pricey, but worth the money, I think.

Can confirm a good experience with Motorport Amsterdam on my ice bike. I guess that being only a few kilometers from Zero Europe HQ also won't hurt delivery times.

Did they go into detail about what was wrong and how they fixed it? I have found that my recharge gauge can sometimes be misleading. It wold recharge and not indicate so until the next day.

In your country, do the public charging stations use connector Mennekes?How do you charge your motorcycles zero on these charging stations, is there any kind of adapter?How did you solve the protective circuit of the station, the one that does not activate the charge unless you provide the control signal from vehicle.  Zero only sells the j1772 adapter but the stations that I have available are all Mennekes type2 and I haven’t been able to find an adapter or how to make one."

Either Mennekes or DC fast charging. You should be able to put together a plug to use a portable quick charger but I don't think it has been done yet. There are j1772-Mennekes cables and cables that speak EVSE so it should be combinable. 

The standard voltage in our outlets is 240V so we can draw more power from them, but an OEM solution to charge at Mennekes stations would be nice yeah.

Thanks for the MIA explanation. Bought de DS "particulier", so that "vlieger" won't go up for me...
I will investigate the Anakees too. Another option would be Bridgestone BT 54R, famous for low fuel consumption.

The guy at the dealer told me that several batches of 14'/'15 bikes are suffering from faulty chargers. They (Zero i think) will not replace them until you have a charging problem. In my case, the DS blew every fuse where i tried to charge. (not the bike fuse)

I did something slightly similar, when my rear tyre was close to gone, I did a series of huge burnouts on varying depths of gravel to "end" it.
While we did'nt video it, we did record the audio (as we could get a clean recording of the gravel kick up without an ICE engine getting in the way)

If you play the PC game Dirt Rally then some of the detail in the cars on gravel roads is taken from the recordings of my bike doing its burnouts...

You'll have to wait for a Steam sale, and you may have to wait for a while, right now, as we are in Early Access, I doubt there will be any serious price drops for a while yet. If it helps, its been compared both favorably to Richard Burns Rally, and also has been called the Dark Souls of racing games.

Buy it. :p

(If nothing else a sale goes some tiny way to funding my Zero habit... )
