I really wish we could get that sort of detail about U.S. motorcycle sales. I keep getting the impression that the majority of Zero sales are from fleet purchases and that individual sales through dealers are pretty minor in the U.S. motorcycle market. It appears that anyone that really knows how the EV market is doing is keeping it to themselves. However, I don't think that current cheap gas prices, the shaky world-wide economy, the relatively high initial cost of electrics and the declining interest in government support of electric vehicles are going to do anything to increase sales in the near future. It is a market that I personally wouldn't want to invest in if I didn't have the money, liked the quiet running and the feel of electric propulsion, had a lot of short trips to do most days and wanted to do a little bit to reduce air pollution.
I might add that I continue to be amazed how many discussions there are on other forums from motorcycle owners who want louder mufflers with no catalytic converts and want to know how to remove as much pollution control equipment as possible from their stock motorcycles. The vast majority of the motorcycle market just doesn't seem to appreciate the advantages of electric vehicles.
