Brake fluid tech video
« on: August 07, 2015, 08:07:20 PM »

Bike Bandit has just published a decent 10-minute-long video detailing the different types of brake fluid.  I have been changing brake fluid ever since disc brakes were first introduced on production motorcycles and there were a few things that I learned by watching this video - such as what actually happens when you mix DOT 5 with DOT 5.1:   :o

Thanks a bunch for the link.

That's the first time I've heard of "super DOT 4" myself.

I didn't know "the higher the boiling point, the faster it absorbs water from the atmosphere" either.

I've had my SR since the first of the year and the fluid is already completely opaque. The system has never been opened. Living in humid Florida is great.

Kudos to Bike Bandit for putting that out.

Here is a link that will get you directly to the video, without having to see the Bike Bandit banner:  ;)

On their channel, they seem to have an excellent series of how-to & tech videos. I'll be looking at that this weekend for more nuggets of knowledge.
