Zero riders from Georgia wanted!
« on: October 10, 2016, 10:10:34 PM »

Recently I contacted Parabellum windshields to see if they can offer something for a Zero.
They responded quickly that I'm not the first one asking for it and that they're interested in making a model but they need a Zero to model it on.

So if anybody here lives near Dahlonega and is looking for a fun day out, you could do the community a great service by dropping by!

Nice. I think I'm the only one to have contacted them before. Good luck!

I assume you are talking about an S or DS model.  I'm in Georgia, but have an FXS.  There's a couple of dealers around Atlanta, so I assume there are some riders in the area.  Not sure if they are on the forum, though.

Yes, the (D)S(R) models have a different light/instrument cluster compared to the FX(S).

Erasmo what all are we talking here?
Is this just a windscreen or a front headlight fairing windscreen combo?
I think somebody had a pretty huge windscreen (parabellum) that was from another bike but rigged it up on a Zero.
I have a 2013 DS but I'm about 2+ hours south.
Two quick concerns would be my instrument cluster is very different from the current bikes and a highway fairing setup like a V Strom would be better on an S or SR.
WOW is sold out of Zero's right now but Blue Moon has some and maybe Parabellum would go there as they are only about 40 mins away.

A windscreen would be the first prio but if they can adapt one of their steer mounted fairing that would also fit a nice.

I know of that parabellum BMW windscreen, something of that size but factory adapted to fit to a Zero would be awesome.

What's different on your cluster?

That was me, from a BMW R1150R Parabellum: http://electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=5525

The 2013 has the same geometry because the headlamp and its placement are the same. It does deserve a fairing, even if Parabellum may not be prepared to develop one.

The DS can be just as efficient and capable as the S with lower resistance tires.

They had a Zero dealer demo day in Chattanooga, TN. The rep there was from GA. I don't know how to contact him but I can't see why he couldn't get one to run up there since they have an actual Zero rep and not just a dealer.

I don't think you can count on Zero itself to supply a loaner, since they make some good money with their own screens.

This claim is empty. You have no evidence of that.

Most of their screens are rebranded MRA screens; I'm pretty sure their screens are just bootstrap accessories and the markup is just due to development cost.

My bet is that they'd be happy to see more options available that they don't have to develop. So, do ask.

Don't know if you're still looking for someone - I have a 2016 SR about 50 miles from Dahlonega.

I've sourced my own fairing at this point but there is still demand from other Zero owners.

I'd be interested in a good sized fairing and screen, so if you dropping-by for them to measure your bike would help make that a reality, please ride over there. They could probably charge your bike while you wait, so you could make that return trip, if you stick to lower speeds ... I'm sure others would be interested too.
