Electric Motocross Racing
« on: June 25, 2015, 11:59:51 AM »

Hello,

I want to introduce our project. The idea was to build an electric powered bike to compete with gasoline bikes here in Germany in a local racing series. Tooked us about 1.5 years to be at the current status but it is stil a long way to go.
Before I forget the most impartant, I want to thank you everyone involved directly or not, everyone in this and the other ev-communities, every employee of companies working in this sector - without you, there would be no base to work from.

I will be writing more about it later when I find time and try to answer all questions if possible.

You can find the website of this project here: http://www.e-mxm.com

Have a nice day.

Awesome project! Is it just the drivetrain from an FX or were you able to use other oem components?

Hello, it is the batteries and the motor (modified) we used from a FX. No other components from Zero on the bike.

This looks great.  I'm not a rider myself yet (waiting for e-bikes to get a bit more affordable), but I've been waiting anxiously for someone to put the FX drivetrain in a bike that's more robust.  With the motocross crowd, when e bikes start winning major competitions that's when they'll be taken seriously, and this looks like a great step toward that goal.
