Getting back to the movie, are you planning on doing any other cross-country trips on a Zero benswing?

I would really like to do some more long distance trips, biolife.

This summer I intend to do 3 main rides:
1)  Mt. Washington in NH
2)  Skyline Drive in the Shenandoahs in Virginia
3)  Tail of the Dragon in NC (maybe stay there a while and just ride around for a while).

I love road trips and now that I've gone cross country, I really want to spend more time riding long distances.  Working on getting a 2014 with a power pack and at least a 7kW charger to go farther, faster.  Will post updates of my adventures and probably get a GoPro to video the expeditions!

Awesome, that sounds like a lot of fun. The charger and powerpack will come in handy I'm sure... :)

The States is a little better outfitted with level 2 and 3 chargers than we are up here in Vancouver, so I'm sure you won't have much trouble making it from city to city without crazy long charging stops :)

I opted not to get the powerpack on my SR, at least initially. I see a few other guys here on the forum have added it on after the fact, and I can't say I won't either since the added range is probably pretty liberating!

Riding a bike with 14.2 kWh would be great, but right now all this is going to happen on my trusty 2012 ZF9.  Unless someone would like to buy my 2012 Zero S with a size6 controller and a 5kW charging system?   ;D

Jealous of your SR!  I rode Big Blue at Harlan's last summer and it was awesome!  It's definitely on my wish list.

In the end, a bigger battery isn't worth a whole lot when it takes hours and hours to charge (like mine :P), so your current setup would definitely be better than a stock SR, or even an SR with a powerpack. I'm sure the SR, powerpack and upgraded charging setup would easily run you close to $25k once the dust has settled haha...

I'm on the fence right now about the chademo option. We do have a few chargers near where I am, and it would extend my range significantly... but I guess I'll hold for now and see if I really need it. You'll have to direct me to some pics of your current 5kW charging system. I'm really curious to see what it looks like, and the system that allowed you to traverse the US.

I think I have figured out how to share Kick Gas - The Movie.  If you bought it, or would like to see it send me a PM and I'll share it with you.

For newer members, Kick Gas an adventumentary that follows 4 people and their companions attempting to break Guinness World Records for longest journey on an electric motorcycle, in an electric car, on an electric scooter and on an electric bicycle in 2013.   Watch their trials and triumphs as they travel from Charleston, SC to Google HQ in Mountain View, CA.

A must-see for anyone interested in electric vehicles, but also a beautiful movie about overcoming adversity and coming together for a larger goal.

Cheers!
