Working at an Electric Motorcycle Company
« on: March 24, 2015, 11:17:13 AM »

Hey all,

First post here. I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what it would be like to work for an electric motorcycle company. I've looked into a few of the "major" ones here: Mission, Zero, Brammo, etc.

I am a senior at Columbia University studying Mechanical Engineering, with a strong interest in the cleantech industry. It seems like most of these companies are out in NorCal, and I would be willing to relocate to work on something as cool as this. I am an avid cyclist and have never ridden a motorcycle, but I could see myself owning one of these someday and getting really into it!

Has anyone worked at an E-Bike company in an engineering context, or have any insight on what the day to day work would be like? Also if anyone knows a current employee, I would love to get in touch and hear more about it.

Thanks,

Have you tried Polaris?  That have recently absorbed the Brammo motorcycle manufacturing business and I believe they will be building their new electric motorcycles somewhere in the mid-west, where they build their IC motorcycles like Indian and Victory.
