I like this and I will have to buy the El Ninja book, I am just not totally convince on the wisdom of putting the motor hanging on the side of the swingarm

especially if the bike was gonna be used off road, motor on outside of swingarm sounds like a bad idea.

yeah, unsprung weight isn't very good for offroad use....

i was thinking more for dropping the bike into the dirt on its motor, In the article it did have a cover cad'd up but its not ideal. Also it looks more semi sprung than unsprung ;) , but even so, those bolts holding the motor on would get a mad workout over bumpy sections and suspension action would definetly suffer
