Parking Discount?
« on: November 06, 2014, 09:45:46 AM »

In Vancouver, Canada:
  • ICE bikes can park for 50% off the price of cars when using PayByPhone (or the app)
  • Registered Electric Motorcycles can park for 75% off the price of cars when using PayByPhone (or the app)
  • Electric Scooters that don't require registration can park for free

The City of Vancouver website uses the term "Electric Scooter" and "Electric Motorcycle" interchangeably, but I checked with them and Zero Motorcycles get the 75% discount.

Does your city have this type of incentive?

I think, in most of the cities in the U.S., motorcycles and scooters are just considered a nuisance when it comes to parking.  Riders of two-wheel vehicles rarely get any sort of discount when doing much of anything, other than riding in the HOV lanes on Interstate freeways.   :(
