That's interesting.

I have an interior garage with a garage door and I spend a lot of time per week to DIY.

I have insulated the garage door with special insulating fiberglass blanket   with R6 insulation grade  specially made for garage door. It is a permanent solution and work really well. It also cover all metal part that conduct heat to the outdoor wich is a must. It cost me 60$ for the entire kit.

I also added temporary plastic film to cover the 2 windows frame I have. This add a thick layer of air.

Both improvement droped the time that my 2000W heater is operating by a factor of 2 !!

I also have a polyurethane floor mat 18" x 18" tiles wich really add confort to the feet compare to the concrete floor.

Here in Quebec we see regular -15 to -25 and even -30C during winter.

A few years ago I bought a new metal garage door, which was insulated with a foam core and double-pane windows.  Naturally, I paid extra for the insulated 16-foot wide garage door.  After having it installed, I realized that the purchase was pretty silly, as I have two wire screen openings in my garage walls that are required by code to provide combustion-air for my furnace and water heater that are located in the garage.  So much for that idea.     Fortunately it rarely gets below 40 degrees F around here during the winter.
