Going the distance - long electric rides
« on: October 21, 2013, 08:57:44 PM »

Post your road trip or weekend rides here!  If you don't feel like creating a brand new thread for a trip, but had a nice long ride let everyone know about it and post pics!

Rode 150+ miles Sunday, Oct 20th in NJ & NY via the Palisades to West Point, then down Seven Lakes Road with a friend of mine who rides a '62 BMW motorcycle. Charged up twice at town halls in Haverstraw, NY and Montebello, NY and saw some incredible views! Glad more chargers are appearing near state parks!

We are quite a pair riding together since we represent classic motorcycle technology (1962 BMW) and the latest technology (2012 Zero S).  Also, while we waited for a road to open up (it was closed for hikers/runners), we hit the driving range at West Point which is open to the public.  Great diversion for an hour or so!

Montclair, NJ to Haverstraw, NY = 54mi
Charge 2hr at Haverstraw Town Hall - 7.04kWh
Haverstraw, NY to Montebello, NY (scenic route) = 66mi
Charge 2hr at Montebello Village Hall - 7.32kWh
Montebello, NY to Montclair, NJ = 31mi
