2012 S front brake lever fix
« on: April 03, 2017, 04:42:42 AM »

My daughter was complaining about the feel of her front brake and wanted me to check it out.  It was very stiff and its movement felt like it was filled with rust.  I took the brake lever apart to grease the pivot shaft and discovered that the small return spring that causes the lever to return to its at-rest position, had come loose and was being wedged between the lever and the brake lever housing.  I reinstalled the spring into the housing's hole that secures one end of the spring and inserted the other end into the slot on the moveable lever.  That, along with a brake fluid, replacement has her brakes working like new again.   :)

I think this would apply to 2013 and 2014 front brakes as well, but I'm unsure how to frame this problem and fix for the manual. Hopefully someone finds it when they need it.

Perhaps "sticking front brake lever"?
