separate forum sections
« on: September 19, 2013, 03:52:20 AM »

Anybody else wish the pre and post 2012 forum sections were just one Zero section?

It's mildly irritating having to open each separately and I see no reason not to read one or the other.

Not me.  I am happy with two Zero sub-forums.   :)

I typically read using the "Show unread posts since last visit" link in the forum header .. which will show all the 2012 and 2013 Zero posts, as well as posts in other subforums.

I use this link, I have it bookmarked for easy access:

http://electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0

It works much better than clicking see unread posts, half the time that only shows me the last 2 or 3 posts since I last logged in. The link above will show everything you have never read.

I feel that as the 2013 are different beasts to what come before, and with the rumors suggesting that the 2013 onwards models settling down development wise, it makes sense to have the split.

This is normal in most forums, when a model has major changes, most faults, mods, accessories, repairs, etc will apply to one model and not the other.

So some of you only read one of the two subforums?

I do open both forums but I like having them separate. Since I own a 2010 DS, 2012 DS, and 2013 FX I like checking out the posts on 2012 first, then go to the 2013 forum.

I don't own either (Mine's an Empulse), but I don't actually ever go into any forums. I always click "Show unread posts since last visit." and read anything new.

wish it was one forum again....

not enough posts/day to warrant two forums.  Yes, the 2013s are a big jump forward, but fundamentally it works exactly the same as the pre-2013s.

I'd think most people read both sections to learn all they can about electrics in general, many of the same talks about volts, amps, watts, C, charging, suspension setup, motor controllers, BMS is all the same with Zeros, irregardless of model years or models.
