A Max RPM number, and an efficiency chart would be nice to look at.

There are four motor/controller configurations sold by Zero (2013-2014) from 2 different motors and 3 different motor controllers.

75-5 and Gen 4 Size 2 controller, 21 kW (2013 XU)
75-5 and Gen 4 Size 4 controller, 33 kW (2013-2014 FX)
75-7 and Gen 4 Size 4 controller, 40 kW (2013 MX, 2013-2014 S/DS)
75-7 and Gen 4 Size 6 controller, 50 kW (2014 SR)

For the X-series vehicles with up to two modular batteries, maximum power is reduced to 20 kW when operating with a single battery module.

Thank you for providing details. I think the later motors are better suited for anything as they are also sealed and waterproof. Many other motors have openings that can let raindrops and splashes in.

By the way what exactly are the diameters for the different models? And are there 2 or three models of it. Like 33Kw, 40Kw and 50Kw

As of 2013, I have seen only two size drawings for the motors. The 75-5 & 75-7 have different dims. I don't know if another physical size was added in 2014.

It was confusing when I first got my Powertrain kit because the drawing I had for the motor turned out to be the 75-7 and the motor I got was a 75-5 (which is what I had ordered). Fortunately, having the actual motor in hand, I machined the correct mountings. So glad I wasn't working from the drawing but then I had the task of getting dims directly off of the motor (not always easy on a round object). Everything worked out OK.

So is there a noticable difference between the diameters of the motors or is it just the location of the mounting holes?

There was a noticeable difference in the length with the 75-7 being longer. Off the top of my head I don't remember if the diameter was different but the mounting holes were different as I recall. It's been some time since I looked at the drawing and compared it to the motor I have.

Despite all my efforts I couldn't yet find info about the diameter of the 75-7 and 75-5 motors. Does anyone have specs about them? Or can anyone please go ahead and meter them? I need specs to see how they will fit into the housing I want them to fit. Anyone?

I think I disagree about Zero's business plan.  I believe that they want a certain volume of sales. (I heard their goal is 2000 sales this year.) And you can't get there if the selling price is too high.  Almost every person that I talk to is quite enthusiastic about the idea of owning an electric motorcycle, but the high purchase price really puts them off.  I don't think Zero wants to compete with Mission, Lightening, Brutus, etc for the big buck customer. There are just not enough of them out there to grow their sales and ensure the future of the company.  My guess is that Zero will strive to reduce the cost of their models and attempt to bring them down to the level of IC motorcycles, which (granted) seem to be increasing in price every year and will soon reach the price level Zero's product line in many instances.  What Zero needs to do is to continue their sales growth and hope that an increasing EV demand will increase component availability, technology and manufacturers and decrease the cost of EV parts.

agree
price is one of the main barriers to volume and hence escape velocity for the Brand and the market sector, the company that gets this right will dominate If the product is decent enough quality

And they overprice even more in overseas market like Australia where there if free trade agreement and no duties on motorbikes. they about $5k more expensive, even Canada that has same dollar value as Australia and 13% tax compared to 10%  of Australia is significanly cheaper about $au25K vs $cad20K on road. :(
