Talking about the ZF6 and ZF9 bikes respectively. Zero really, really needs to either rename the "highway commuting" range spec or add a sustained highway operation range spec.

That seems like a pretty fair review.  I continue to believe that the real environment for the Zero is commuting and local urban and suburban travel.  It is never going to be an amusement ride, just a pack horse that eats electricity and doesn't poop on the road.

Whoa there! Don't forget dirt riding. The DS ZF6 is great in the dirt and the range is sufficient for most dirt rides. I extrapolate 65 miles with my dirt riding style. Doing any dirt ride longer than that is category: Gonzo! My longest ride so far (with plenty of battery left) was 45 miles and the last 12 miles were on pavement. I was one tired puppy enjoying a cold beer and a hot tub that evening.

Unfortunately, all of the dirt within a100-mile radius of me is either privately owned, or off-limits to motorized vehicles.     So I don't think about dirt much - except as being something to wash off.
