A&R reviews the Mission R
« on: August 07, 2012, 02:58:28 AM »

Here is a long review, containing a lot of hot air and some nice photos, of the Mission R by Asphalt & Rubber. They ride the bike from San Francisco to Stinson Beach in Marin County, north of SF. Naturally, they run the bike's 14 kWh battery pack out of power on the way back to the city after their 70-mile ride.   ::)

And here we have another longer article discussing Steve Rapp's ride on the Mission R, including a video and a photo of the race bike and the 2014 production version:

It must be Mission Motorcycles Day.   ;)

I've got an email into Mission about the weight for each of the different battery options.  The Rapp article mentions 545 lbs for the race bike which I assume is light for street version.  That is 145 lbs more than my S1000RR which is a bit of a killer :(  Has anyone seen the weights for the production versions?

I have ridden the Mission R and I can tell you it sure does not feel heavy. It is fast and turns wonderfully. While not the same as your S1000rr (458# wet I believe) not many bikes really are. (Big fan of that bike myself) The other part about that bike is if your riding on the street and don't care about trying to go 150mph drop the gearing down and from any speed the front end is a flick of the wrist from pointing to the north star (I did't try this since I didn't have the money to buy the bike if I dropped it).
