Hi Michael,

For it to sell well in the U.S., it needs to have more range than what's stated in your post — 2304Wh battery is too small of a battery.
Where is it made ?
What's the warranty ?
For service or warranty issues, where are the dealers located ?

Good luck with your venture. But I don't have high hopes that your electric motorcycle will sell very well in the U.S. Electric bicycles are the big seller in urban areas where range and speed are not all that important and outside cities, speeds are typically around 100-120kph and many riders are looking for ranges on the order of 300-400km before they will get off their ICE motorcycles.

My first electric motorcycle was a 2009 Electric Motorsport GPR-S, which had a 4kwh battery pack. When new it would hit 105kph, but would only travel 20km at that speed. At 50kph it was good for about 50km. While it got me to work and back, a 15km trip, I still had to recharge at work to return home, so it really wasn't all that useful for the price that it sold at which was $8,500 USD.

I think the company sold around a hundred of the models before giving up, but what really put them under financially was the cost of warranty claims as their product, and especially the Hi Power brand batteries and their BMS electronics, were just not up to the task of dealing with U.S. motorcycle riders.  Photo attached.

Michael,
People won't be riding at 18mph (30km/hr) — the speed used to estimate the range, that speed might make CAOFEN look bad — they'll ride faster, so, it'd be good to give a range spec at about 40mph.  If there is going to be a street-legal model, a range spec for it at 55mph would be good.
What's the range for the 3,456kWh battery ?

As you can find out the weight of Caofen is light-weighting model, the average of comprehensive road condition is 80-100KM for the range.

Based upon my personal experience with two electric motorcycles with 4,000Wh battery packs, when traveling at 50KPH, you won't go more than 60KM before the battery is depleted and needs to be recharged.  Maybe you could get to 100KM if you traveled no faster than 30Kph. But who wants to ride that slow even around town? At those speeds an electric bicycle would be a better choice. As it could be picked up and taken into an apartment for security and to be recharged, which is typically not an option for a motorcycle or scooter-size vehicle.

My guess would be an electric bicycle styled to look like a small motorcycle.  ::) My Aniioki electric bicycle has a larger battery (3,100 watt hours) than is shown in the specifications in the original post. But it does have a relatively powerful motor. My ebike is only rated at 1000 watts. So I guess the CAOFEN F80 is more of a city commuter motorcycle with a small battery pack and a short range.  ???

As for it being vaporware, it could go in any direction, but I sure wouldn't want to invest in the company or its products until you see them in person and find out what they cost.

I think they have been marketed in several different ways, none of which seem to have got much traction:
Caofen F80
Horwin HT5
Ox DUK
GoTrax Everest (supposed to be available at Best Buy)
and the latest is Dimen Dimentro DT ( https://thepack.news/eicma-e-news-dimen-tech-will-present-their-new-subsidiary-e-brand-dimentro/ )
