Almost every morning I see a post or two or three from the  :o bot and then I use the "report to moderator" feature to notify him about the irritating post. I have no idea if the reporting does any good, but it is easy to click and then I feel that I have done my good deed for the day.

The bot outdid itself this morning, a new record for it with 7 irritating posts overnight in the "other motorcycles" section.

Yeah, I think we're all talking about the same bot. At least its not offering hot girls in my area tonight, lol. (like other bots)

But yeah seems like a cut and dry ban. Dunno why it's still here.

I didn't even realise they were all from today, I suppose we can cut the moderator some slack for not having got rid of those yet. Maybe whoever it is only has the power to delete posts but not to ban members? Which begs the question where is the admin who does have the power and if they can't or don't want to be active here why haven't they given more power to the mods.

This morning there were 8 posts by this bot on the "other electric motorcycles" sub-forum. It picked threads from 15 years ago to attack. The last one was in response to a post by the site administrator in July 2009.  >:(  I reported every one of the bot's posts to the "moderators" - wherever they are.  ::)

Seems Nobody cares,  they have been reported countless times,  the Admin / Owner barely is ever around I  am thinking, doesn't really give a shit, just leaves teh forum up, 'As Is' - ie NOT his problem.

About the best you can do is, Ignore user, and when you sign in, in the morning and click new posts, look at by whom, read all the others and then mass click the 'read' tab and they go out of your active inventory.  It sucks but that's about the best Ive found sofar.

In my forum, I have a few who can click a person to put them into a read only mode, for me to decide if they get perma shitcanned or not.  Very rarely have to use it.   One can also implement a double verify to get on the forum too,  it takes a minute or two longer and yes it's a pain BUT it tends to make the bots go elsewhere, so can be taken down after a few days when they stop their shit.
Just foor for througt

I remember seeing option in some forum software to automatically remove/hide any posts that had been reported X number of times. If this forum software has similar feature we just have to be diligent in reporting said posts.

I report every one that I see. I think I have reported about 30 posts from this bot so far. And so far there has been no apparent result from that reporting.

I have a feeling the admin is running the bot just to watch us all bitch about it.

Last night all of the bot's previous posts have been cleaned from the site. Good riddance!  ;D The forum admin got our messages. Thank you.   :)

It was kind of harmless at first but when all but a couple or so posts out of 10 on the most recent are mostly huh symbols and question marks. ??? ??? ??? ???
