Basicly one of the little velcro straps you get with a camera or whatever (I've forgotten where this one came from) and never use for its intended purpose. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.

Big fat rubber band and a few turns on it should work too, or a piece of string  and a few winds and tightening on it.  Many simple ways.
