After having a Zero S on order for more than 13 months I have decided to cancel my order. I don’t have what it takes to get a shipping date followed by an excuse about why it didn’t ship followed by another shipping date month after month for another year. I ordered my Zero S on March 12, 2009. The initial reports were that the Zero S was to begin being shipped in April. Month by month that shipping window kept getting pushed back. I remember a phone call to Zero near the end of June when the salesman said that over 100 Zero S’s were going to be shipped the third week of July and mine was one of them. They emphasized that this time they were really going to be shipped. Of course that never happened. When I called the first week of August I was told I would hear from billing the following week as my Zero S was being shipped in two weeks. Of course I never heard from the billing department that week so when I called them the following week they had no idea what I was talking about. Guess the salesperson had a good laugh on me. It was then that they said they would not be shipped until the end of November and I realized it was time to buy an ICE bike if I wanted to ride a motorcycle anytime soon. It was in early January when I received an update saying that shipping of the 2010 models would begin the middle of March and that mine was near the top of the list. I felt I would receive my Zero S sometime in April. After not hearing anything more from Zero I contacted them in April and was told my Zero S would be delivered to me on May 21st. I was skeptical but two different sales reps confirmed that I would have my Zero S on May 21st and that it was a firm date. I was actually beginning to think that after all this time I was finally going to get my bike. Maybe Zero had finally worked through all of the issues from 2009. I was really concerned that 2010 was going to be just like 2009 but Jeff insisted that it wasn’t and that I was really going to get my bike. When I called last week to do a another check on my shipping date I was told it had been in fact pushed back to mid to late June. So 2010 really is looking like 2009.
I think Zero has an excellent marketing and sales division. An internet search reveals a huge number of articles about the company’s bikes. And I also think they are smart enough to know that if you tell a person your product will be available shortly they are more likely to place an order or to keep an existing order. Likewise if you tell them your product won’t be available for a long time they are less likely to order and more likely to cancel. This is the game I feel that Zero is playing with its customers. With current production going to sales reps it may be a long time before Zero actually ships to its existing customers. But those customers will be told they will receive their bike next month. They will then get some excuse about why it won’t ship and then they will get another ship date. I am not willing to play that game anymore. To all of you who read this and have bikes on order I wish you the best of luck. I don’t see Zero giving its existing customers anything besides empty promises and excuses for the near future.

So glad I canceled my order when I did. It clear that Zero is not giving the true story about the "S"

We get people here who post....GOT MY S. Problem is all those guys are dealers......It kind of makes me wonder if its a marketing thing to slow and make artificial demand.

I'm sorry to read this!  However I can very much appreciate your frustration.  You have been very patient to hold on this long.  I am the Idaho rep. and if it makes you feel any better I'm still waiting on my S as well.  It's still cold as a witches t*t here so I'm not to freaked out yet.  Soon enough Zero will get all the pieces in place.  It's a daunting task to get all that needs to get done done and do to the level expected.  That's not an excuse, just an observation.  Hopefully we will see you back in the fold once things get moving and settled out.  The future is bright with this endeavor, it's just not happening as fast as any of us would like.

Hey ultrarnr,
I just read the bad news and I wanted to say I understand and hope that there is another great bike waiting.  Perhaps the Brammo?  Maybe the TTXGP will inspire some new hot bike that you will be getting to the envy of those of use who have spent our money already.
