H-D Q3 sales (including LiveWire) slipping again
« on: October 26, 2024, 07:36:12 PM »

H-D sales are slipping again. This seems to be a trend lately. Their sales are apparently declining as the Faithful ages. Here is the news as reported by Motorcycle.com. The last half of the article discusses sagging sales of H-D's LiveWire electric motorcycle spinoff:  https://www.motorcycle.com/bikes/news/five-takeaways-from-harley-davidsons-q3-2024-results-44610502

I don't think they have dealers who want to sell their product.  I called I think it is livewire of Berlin ct which is also a Harley dealer back in early spring about fees and talked for a while.  I think the guy offered a test ride but it was kind of cool then.   I applied on line for a test ride, maybe a couple 3 months ago,  it was aranged so I pick the time day and even the color.  Nothing, yes I got added to their email list and got satisfaction report about the test ride or essentially that.  One really has to go in person I suppose but if they won't even follow through on the test rides.... why?

That sounds like how dealers in the U.S. were responding to having to sell Buell motorcycles, back when H-D owned the company.

So Energica's UK distributor is also a Zero dealer and Sur-ron, and Super SoCo, and Maeving, and anything else electric you care to name *except* Livewire because of course when they asked HD about it they were told they'd have to take on all of HD's line and since they haven't magically become a Livewire dealer since the formal spinoff I'm guessing that hasn't changed.
