First I heard about this. Elon could have changed his mind!


If I were Energica or Zero or any other electric bike manufacturer, I would now be worried.


A motorcycle that will be plug-in and charge on ANY Tesla Supercharger just as with any other Tesla. That is a big deal!


And I thought I was done buying motor vehicles of any type for life. But it will have to be a touring bike.


And if they can put a centerstand and 6KW AC charger on it, I will buy it ASAP. But when will ASAP be?


Battery size is less important to me if it can charge anywhere.


Today, I rode a couple of hundred miles on my Zero DSR/x. I made five charge stops, each one about 20 minutes. That's the way I normally ride. I don't need a large battery for that.

Musk hates motorcycles and I can't seem him ever building one - unless it was going to be something like Musk's flame thrower idea of a few years ago, when he was (or perhaps did) sell flame throwers to the general public.

Well, he did a good job in that video in making it look real.


I kinda thought it would be too good to be true.  But it's a good thing for Energica and Zero and other other electric motorcycle companies if it is just vaporware.

As for the article you linked to, I didn't read it all but it seems like a load of waffle. Purely vague speculation and nothing more than a Tesla fan's daydream. Also it was written back in July so if there was any truth to it we would have heard of it by now.

Also I'm curious if they'd even be able to call it the Model M with Unicomp presumably holding the trademark for that.

It's the first you've heard of it because it's obvious BS. If Tesla comes out with a motorcycle, or a new vehicle of any sort whatsoever, it won't be something you can only find on some obscure website. It would be major news and you'd see it on every website that has car or motorcycle content. Think, McFly

I wonder, if he did want to make a motorcycle how many years R and D it'd take him?  Even if today he wanted to change his mind, I can't see anything coming out in under a year or so, unless he buys out Energica and rebrands it, because knowing Tesla, it won't be a pos, it will have to be a super performer and thats about the only one out there right now that is selling?

Yeah, I just now discovered in the "Tesla" video, a muffler can be seen right at 54 seconds in when the bike stops.

In the third shot you can make out an engine case and exposed oil cooler, the fifth you can see twin analogue dials, all very not-Tesla. You don't need to be paying that much attention to see it's not an electric bike and whoever created that video wasn't even trying to be convincing.

And I also wondered why the video was taken on a dark night.


When we know to look for the BS, it is very easy to find. Not so difficult in the beginning when nothing is expected.


BTW, I was told about the "Tesla  Model M" from a buddy who rides an ICE bike. He assumed it was all for real and I had no reason to question him.

Yeah, I am surprised I didn't even notice where it said "posted nine years ago".


Too bad it is all BS. I would love to have a bike that could charge at ANY Tesla Supercharger. The 150KW Superchargers are often at great needed locations, which will never be compatible with anything other than Tesla.


Such as Incline Village, NV (where the CCS is permanently removed from service, with 150 KW Tesla Supercharges a few feet away) and Lake Topaz, NV and countless other places that can ONLY work with Tesla.
