2023 Energica ss9 -b1000 error code
« on: August 07, 2023, 09:37:01 PM »

Hello all,
Searching for info on my constant light error codes. Closes dealer is 400 miles away from Denver. I starting getting ...
"Position light fault" and "Front Beam Fault" errors. Happens often while riding. Some times I get fault "!" on the bottom right.
Anyone have any thoughts or just live with it. Im at 7000 miles and need tires as well.
Let me know if this is a real threat or something I can live with until I can get to a dealer.
Thanks
Joe

I have a 2018 SS9 and this error started manifesting... ~2-3 years ago? It was when they did a big firmware update. I'm trying to remember what I was told in my case that it was something like a slightly different value voltage than expected for some of my lights in the 12v system and that it was 100% harmless.

I've done a fair amount of weird stuff to my bike so I've just lived with it with no issue other than the error message itself. I've not heard of it happening on newer bikes but I'm over 40,000 miles and it doesn't impact anything.

I had something similar happen to me with turn signals on my Ribelle.  yes I know a totally different platform but lessons learned.
Once I got the turn signal fault, they all would not work anymore until I cycled power on the bike.  Check that when that error is active, even if you cleared it, that your stuff still works properly.  If it does, then it's just a nuisance message, if your lights do not work, then you may need to look further to mitigate / correct the issue.

So far just a nuisance, sometimes the error flashes very quickly then goes away, several times for miles. Ive been riding mostly at night and both my headlight and taillight shows no issues, never turns off.

Again, this is exactly the behavior I've seen.

If it's just a transient spike / surge etc of a few millivolts or something, it'd be an eazy peazy fix, put a line or two of code to dampen it for like half a second before triggering the alarm.  That way it has to persist to become active and not just microsecond blips.
