Hi there!
« on: August 20, 2023, 08:14:05 PM »

Thanks for having me on your forum.
My name is Martin and I live in The Netherlands.

I plan on buying a new motorcycle in the coming months and as I mostly commute all year round my interest in electric motorcycles was piqued. On the one hand because of the economy of them but also it being something different and better for the environment.

At the moment I ride a R1200R (2006) and have two Yamaha SRX-600 thumpers, one restored and one in the process of being converted to a cafe racer.

I hope you can help me make up my mind about going electric.

Well, there's only one really important question and that's how far do you ride every day?

I mostly commute (15 miles/24 km)with the bike, but it is my main means of transportation. Everything falls within the expected real world range of either the SR/S and SR/F which I’m looking at.

The way I made up my mind was to go for a test ride. After that I knew I couldn't not get one.

Your commute is perfect for an electric motorcycle. Although they are not very economical or good for the environment, they are loads of fun to ride.

Sounds like mind is already made up :D
Go have a ride on the SR/F/S if you haven't already, and then you'll be unable to resist.
I've done 15000 miles on mine in 2 years. Would have been more except it was out of action for several months and I barely ride it in the winter because I'm old and like my creature comforts. I've done several longer rides on it (240 miles), kinda fun plotting the charging en route.
