Ok so I'm starting to put the parts on the bike and I'm a little freaked out. I cut the wires that were coming from the throttle and there's like 8 different wires in there. Yellow, black, white, blue, green, etc....

what are all these? Did I cut the wrong bundle of wires?

-edit-
Apparently it's a Bitron throttle? https://zeromanual.com/wiki/Bitron_Throttle
And I guess you're not able to swap throttles because of the hall efect thingies? Unless you guys know of a way to connect everything.

A replacement throttle should be plug and play using the supplied connector.
I take it your SR was built before 2015 and uses the old style 3 wire throttle?

:( sorry

opposite. It's a 2021 model and has 8 wire connectors. The domino throttle is the part with 3 wires I'm trying to connect, but I guess they're not compatible. So I just ordered an OEm throttle

Does the handlebar need greased for the OEm throttle? I'm putting the new parts on the bike and I noticed the throttle area has a white grease. I'm not sure if that leaked from another part in the accident, or seeped out of the throttle housing,

When I replaced the handlebars on my 2018 SR, I don't recall there being any grease between the throttle and bar.   Seems to me putting grease there would only act to attract and retain dust and dirt.

There's a thin layer on mine. Not a ton. I wonder if it leaked out from somewhere. But thanks for the feedback. Almost done buttoning it up now, this one question was holding me up

This thread should be in the unofficial manual because it seriously saved me trying to figure out how to assemble the throttle again.
Thank you @Demoni, that video was a godsend!

Yeah this thread was mostly started out of a lack of information and ignorance on my part, the main fact being the domino throttle (which a few people claimed it works) DOESN'T work on NEWER models of the S platform. Just stick with OEM. Prepare for battle with the spring. And everything should work out.

A bit late but, that white grease.  Lithium grease? or if there are any electronic parts in that thingie, some heat sink / heat transfer paste?  Sometimes it can be applied like that, under stuff to help keep water out, humidity hanging out etc type application, which could eventually cause issues.
