2020 SR/F - 0% SoC drop in 55 km w/ charge target at 80%
« on: May 31, 2023, 12:44:17 AM »

The last few weeks when I set a charge target at 80%, typically during the week when commuting, once it reaches that limit it keeps on charging for at least 30 minutes at full power (1 phase = 3 kW) all while displaying 80%. Then, when I drive, it can take up to 55 km to finally drop below 80%.

Today, after 55 km, it was finally showing 79%; but now 3 hours later - I just checked my SoC status for this post - it was back up at 80% (without charging). My commute takes at least 15% SoC so it would seem as if it charged closer to 100% rather than 80%.

Over the weekends for longer distances I disable the charge target and then the SoC behaves as I would expect, and charging mostly at 6 kW. I am using MBB revision 29 and BMS revision 22 since March 17th, and have done over 3000 km since then. I will reach 56'000 km in the next few days, the SR/F was and still is the perfect match for me. For me this is just slightly annoying, but I thought I would nonetheless share my experience about it.

Update!
Same conditions today, commuting to work and charging there, up to 80%. But this time it stopped charging shortly after 80% and at shortly after the foreseen charging duration. Later on the road, the SoC also behaved normally, dropping 1% after about 5 km, and so on. As I haven't updated the firmware, I cannot explain why it all went back to normal, just glad it did.
