Weird errors on 2019 SR
« on: May 01, 2023, 10:08:03 AM »

I have a 2019 SR that has had a weird problem that maybe someone here can help me figure out. This problem is sporadic, but has now happened to me 4 different times. I will try to ride and the bike will be fine for a few seconds, then I will get a check engine light and a series of error codes and I will lose throttle. The codes are 57, 54, 44, 53, 32. I'll have to turn the key off and then back on, and the same thing will happen again. This circle of events repeats for about 10 minutes, then the bike will operate normally again.

Weirdly, every time this has happened, it has always been around the same time of day (around 5pm) and always when I'm leaving work. While I am at work the bike is outside in direct sunlight - not sure if the heat may have something to do with it.

Video of this happening below.

Anyone have any ideas?

Use a reflective motorcycle cover.
It may not solve your issue but it will help protect your bike’s finish.

Did you check what the error Codes mean in the manual?

Those are all battery related codes (except for 44 for the kill switch, I'm guessing you're hitting that after you pull over) saying the module has been disconnected and 32 points to the reason being cell balance. Assuming you have had the bike charging between this fault happening (you need to let it get to 100% for balancing to start and then leave it for a little while) we can assume at least one of the cells is faulty.

32 - Module variance too high. If you're lucky, doing what TheRan said will fix your problem in the long term. I'd dump the logs and see what you're balance has been for the last few months.
