Reachability of Energica, Italy, by email
« on: January 16, 2023, 02:28:39 PM »

Hi everyone,
have any of you successfully contacted Energica via email? I tried several times to get information on the Öhlins shock absorber with external reservoir that is part of the corsa clienti kit for the Ego (https://www.energicamotor.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/corsa-clienti-kit_en.pdf). I used the email address info@energicamotor.com and wrote the request in Italian. I never got any sort of reply. Is there possibly another, better monitored or more responsive email address?
Cheers, Urs

I would have thought you being in Italy would have a better source for info. Here in the states i guess slow response for now is weather in San Franciso.  How far are you from Modena? Maybe someone there can help? It took 8 months to get my Ribelle, just got it 2 weeks ago, god forbid if anything goes wrong with it as I foresee getting tech or factory help a long process.
I know I'm not much help, just letting you know you are not alone.

Thanks for the input. I am Switzerland based and while this is a neighboring country to Italy it's a good 500 km. Actually, I am just hoping to get an answer about the availability of the S46 Öhlins shock absorber. I suspect that the lack of response means that Energica does not want to offer the shock absorber separately.

Have you tried reaching out to Ohlins directly? Looking at their USA site I don’t see Energica listed as a brand. If you have a picture from the PDF then maybe Ohlins can tell you what model shock it is based on that.

I did. They pointed me to Andreani, Italy, who produce the S46 series for Öhlins (!). I contacted them and they told me that said model as well as the one without reservoir (original equipment of the Öhlins versions of the Ribelle and SS9) are produced exclusively for Energica and that the contract with Energica prohibits direct sale.

yes, they show it as orderable.  Energica doesnt tell us if there is stock in Italy ready to go.   If they dont have any, we know Ohlins is taking forever to make shocks right now.  Some other Ohlins shocks we order direct from Ohlins have ETAs of 6+ months right now.

Thanks. However, I just learned that the shock does not fit the SS9 due to the external expansion tank. There is just too little space for the connecting tube, which is why it would be bent too much. Guess, the original Öhlins or the Hyperpro 467 are the only options.
