I'm getting some deja vu. I swear this thing has been "available to order" for probably a year now and always with an estimated shipping date. Currently the site says "funding" and the "campaign" ends in 29 days, it's sounding like something off Kickstarter and we know how a lot of those projects go. Also if you reload the product page you can catch this. Of course they're past that date now, but if that's what they needed and what they've got then I don't think another month is going to net them $54m.

It's a shame because it sounds like a great bike at a cracking price, but likely just another case of too good to be true.

I missed that. It sure doesn't look very promising. Getting that kind of money in today's economy is very unlikely to happen.

It's got a lot of the right specs and a face only a mother could love, as is Buell's way. I can't help but wonder if he might do a lot better with these ventures if he tried a bit less hard to make them look weird and different.

Cas :)

Erik retired from the company last year, but was involved with the design and specs.  It ticks a LOT of boxes (huge onboard storage, fast charging, modular design) but I've made it a rule to NEVER buy the first model year of any vehicle.  I've been burned too many times in the past.  I'll let others be the "beta testers."  I'll stick with my tried and true 2021 Zero SR; it does everything I need it to do right now.

Crowdsourcing is a really, really, really bad way to fund mass-production.
If you can't find a real investor, your product pretty much guaranteed not ready for prime time.
And since Erik Buell has no connection to it anymore, I don't trust them to do a good job of engineering long-term.

First off, a correction to the subject:  It SHOULD be "Fuell Fllow news."  The company is called "Fuell."  "Buell" is an unrelated company that was formerly known as "EBR."  And the "Fllow" is spelled with two "Ls".

Now a more detailed article on the bike in question:

So I guess he's not COMPLETELY retired from Fuell.  Here's an update from the man himself:

Here is an article published by Motorcycle.com regarding the FUELL Flow production plans. It sure looks like Erik Buell is the spokesperson for this company: https://www.motorcycle.com/bikes/news/erik-buell-designed-fuell-flow-now-open-for-pre-orders-44592085

To hear Erik talk about the Fllow:  https://theridingobsession.podbean.com/e/buell-s-fuell/

Skip ahead to the 34-minute mark to skip all the blathering...
