2017 Zero FX for parts, dead batteries, Austin TX
« on: June 21, 2022, 11:04:02 PM »

Anyone looking for a project?
I have 2017 Zero FX, 6500 miles on the clock, with dead batteries (modular version).
The bike rides fine with different batteries, tested by putting borrowed ones from other bike.
But it also doesn't charge, no error codes, just not charging.

Located in Austin, Texas
I'd gladly sell the whole bike, but can also part it out.

Just did more testing, turns out the bike doesn't charge the batteries. Updated the description with this info.

Back when I had my modular FXS I'd have gone for this so I had a bike for the odd off road day. Basically 2 bikes, but only one at a time. I'm only mentioning this in case someone else wants to do this.

Second bike could be an option, since it rides fine with good batteries.
I'm less sure about off-road, maybe once you put a chain and proper tires it would work, although electric motor still seems not great for that. I'm sticking to smokers for that. Used Zero for commuting only.
