Where to find spokes compatible with Zero FX

Hi everyone, I am getting more and more breakage and loss of spokes in the wheel of the bike, a 2015 Zero FX and especially in the front wheel. Going to my old mechanic, he told me that they are an unusual size and are hard to find (or at least he couldn't). So do you know where they can be found or if they are the same as some other more popular motorcycle models? Thanks

You didn't mention what year bike so I just guessed 2017 and looked on AF1's website for the parts PDF.   Other model years might be different.

Zero has FX spokes and nipples listed in the parts manual.   See page 23 of this PDF:

You might want to consider replacing all of the spokes on the wheel that is breaking them.   I had this issue on a mountain bike.   After replacing about 8 spokes, I went ahead and replaced them all.  No breakage since.

+1 on AF1, they should be able to help you.  I have these part numbers:

2014 FX: F inside spoke 23-04843, F outside spoke 23-04844, R inside spoke 23-04848, R outside spoke 23-04849

2016 FX: F inside spoke 23-08049, F outside spoke 23-08050, R inside spoke 23-08051, R outside spoke 23-08052

You'll have to ask AF1 about the 2015, I believe it uses one of these spoke sets but I don't know which.

Here was my 2016 FX spoke saga:

TLDR: I ordered heavier spokes from Patrick at Buchanan and will never again have a break.

Wheel size: 21 x 1.85
Quantity: 36 spokes (I got 40 to have spares)
Gauge: 9 (stock is 10, which is TOO thin)
Nipple size: 0.250"
Price: $120 (as of Sept 2020)

I had to send them a sample spoke to copy in order to get the right size (but with any luck, they would have recorded the specs from my sample).

Warning: if you've never re-laced a whole wheel it can be a project.

+1 on Buchanan's - they're excellent, and might have Zero FX dimensions on file now since we've been sending them samples. And fwiw - I've replaced a front and rear spoke on my '14 FX with the wheels on the bike (maybe I just got lucky).

I also snapped several spokes on the front wheel of my 2015 FX. Ordered replacements from AF1. If you are going to stick with the stock spokes you should order some new nopples as well. Mine snapped right at the nipple and I was unable to get the broken portion out. My suspicion is that they were overtightened from new and stretched where the threads start.
