Zelidar, did you do the ride and was this tweaking of the firmware configuration done?

If yes: What is working regarding remote information, what not?

<<<  ... under Android with the latest app (V2.2.4) when trying the "Remote Connect" I am always getting an "Unable to connect" answer. >>>

My dealer checked with Zero and they could see my bike in the cloud, so the problem was with the app. I focused again on the app, and now if finally works and here are my findings (Android app):

- Uninstalling and reinstalling the app did not help. Some invalid data is used again, possibly left back or restored from the cloud
- Both the "log out" and the "deregister" functions didn't work, I got an error message asking me to contact a Zero representative instead.
- The only way I have found to "reset" the app was to use the "Clear data" function from the Android OS, and then of course in the app to repeat the pairing and enter my credentials to connect to the Zero cloud.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks Zelidar

I did the recommendet data-clearing, re-pairing, but the situation is the same as bevore:

Zero SR/F
FW 19
App V. 2.2.4 Android

(I got the german app version, therefore I have to translate what I read; may be I don't hit the exact terms shown on an English version.)

The app seems to work fine if in a bluetooth-connection.

If the bike is keyed off and I hit the yellow 'remote connection' button, the app directly jumps to the map and shows me the correct position of the bike.

From the map I have no other option then to go back.

Going back there is no information on SoC or anything else ...

So: Do you get Information regarding SoC in remote connection?

Thanks, Ernst

Yes! It is now functional as was before. Although I must say I didn't got the chance to try out the various related notifications (interrupted/complete charging, shock, low SOC, movement)

My dealer (Country Road Alpnach) checked with Zero NL and they saw that my bike was connected online and delivering all the needed data. In my opinion this is something your dealer should do as well, then inform you. Then you can try again on the side of the application.

Follow up for my bike: as long as the bike is actively charging SoC and location are correct. Once the bike is charged, I lose SoC and haven’t been to verify if the location remains up to date.

When this started over the fall/winter I wondered if perhaps cellular costs were adding up for Zero and they changed their cellular logic to save on data usage. Today, I got an email saying they’ll be charging for cellular use after two years of ownership. Interesting.

I don't have a reference left but I remember from the moment I bought the bike (July 2019, delivered August 2019) I was also told that I would get a 2 year free online connectivity. I'm closing in on that 2 year now so I'll report back for sure if it stopped working or not.

It is mostly broken already anyway since SOC and charge state is no longer updated, like never since the moment it was updated from version 17 to 19. I skipped version 18. The only thing that still works is the GPS location info while riding. Although even that seems to be less accurate than before.

The only thing I know for sure now is that I won't pay for it. Not even if they fix it.

Same here.  It's been useless for me.  I've never been able to get a signal in my garage or when in storage (basement).  I can (and will) live without it.

I think my issue is a firmware update one.  My dealer replaced the CCM under warranty.  It worked at the dealers.  But on my way to pick up the bike I tried the remote connection and SOC was 0% but location was accurate.  I called the dealer to let them know and they keyed the bike on, which updated the SOC in the cloud.  So I knew it wasn’t the app.  I took the bike home and it did the same once more - 0%, then updated when I keyed on.  After that it reverted to ‘last seen - x weeks ago’… and counting.  Hans’ ZeroNG app mirrored the Zero App status.  So I believe it’s a software/firmware issue.
If the feature worked then I think I’d pay the subscription as it’s helpful to track the bike and check on charging status when I’m not in range - at a shop/cafe.  But it seems Zero don’t really seem too clued up about it, it’s a 3rd party module after all.   :o

I recently did the firmware update from 17 to 19 on my 2020 SR'S and now don't get info when doing a remote connect. I called Zero and they told me they are aware of the problem and will be coming out with another firmware update to deal with the issue but no idea of when it will be ready. I did re-pair my phone but it did not fix the problem. It works when communicating with blue tooth but not thru the cell network. In reply to message 17. When you do the remote connect you will see the map with the bikes location and a black bar at the bottom of the page and you have to drag that up to see the SOC and other info. The battery page does not show the remote connection data. When you open the remote connect page you will see briefly at the bottom that it is connecting. The message at the top of the page always says Attempting to connect. It seems an odd way to do this.

Well, the bike is making a liar out of me. I'm sitting at a tavern two blocks away from the bike and the remote connect function is working. I charged earlier today at a free Volta charger and the app showed charging, SOC, and time to go. The info does not update without closing the remote connect page and reconnecting but I assume that is normal. One thing I did notice when using level 2 chargers is that the charging KW is 5.8 steady and flips up to 5.9 occasionally.  Before the update it would read 5.7 and occasionally flip up to 5.8. Did we get another 100 wars of charging?

Unplugged the CCM entirely, took out the SIM, put it back together and voila.
This article on FB gave me the confidence to get my hands dirty.  I removed the CCM fuse first tho.  ;)

I have already done the manipulation.
ccm cleaned with a toothbrush, to remove a whitish deposit
same sim card
and contact cleaner.
reassembly, with and without fuse.
no change
