Good Zero Dealer service in GA
« on: February 13, 2022, 11:56:20 PM »

I got my DSR back yesterday.  It was the first time I've had it in for service other than a motor commissioning.  This is how it went.

I took it to WOW Motorcycles in Marietta GA.
I wanted to get the motor commissioned late last summer and they were over booked by like 3 weeks so I waited.  I knew my charger was/is dying but I have a Delta Q to finish the charge to 100%.  I bought a used unit from a forum member years ago, just in case, and will swap it out soon.

My SOC started falling faster and faster.  In the end a 33 mile ride at 55mph left me with 38% from fully charged.  I called Zero to confirm my battery warranty was active and it was until 2/23/22.  Time to make the trip.

I called and spoke with Jason in service, who remembered me from my 13 DS which kind of shocked me since they move hundreds of bikes through a year.  I told him how it was acting and dropped it off mid-late Jan.  I told him to test the battery and commission the motor and I wanted the fork oil changed and we'd go from there.

They confirmed the battery needed replacing and that Zero would be shipping one out.  He then mentioned the other things the bike needed.  Tires new brake fluid and the charger was failing.  All of these were true but I had everything to do that work myself.
No issue and he just wanted me to know what they found.  I felt it showed they were taking the bike seriously and not dismissing it like an electric toy.

I told him over the phone thanks for doing just that.  I said I knew of so many people who have had problems getting their bikes repaired correctly and in a timely fashion because the dealers weren't committed to the future electric era.  Without hesitation he relied "we are, we know it's coming".

So if you're in the southeast and want your Zero taken care of I recommend WOW Motorcycles and Jason to get things done right.

I've had a good experience with Blue Moon as well but I'd say WOW is a bigger operation and a little closer to me.

Also a thank you to Zero for their help and fast shipping of the new battery.  It helps confirm my theory that most people's issues occur at the dealer level not HQ.

It is great to hear some good news regarding Zero's after-sale service and one of their dealers.  :)

I like the idea of having a list of exceptional dealers to reference. In my mind there's Harlan at Hollywood Electrics, Sev at Team Powersports in Raleigh, Phil at Cleveland Moto, and Alec at English Electric Motor co.

I would love to have more to reference for people outside those guys' coverage areas.

My limited experience with SFMoto in San Francisco has always been positive. Two of their sales staff and at least one of their technicians, used to work for the Zero dealer in Daly City, which closed a few years ago. That was where I bought my 2012 Zero ZF9. I think they had been selling Zero's there since 2010. When that shop closed, they moved to SFMoto. They probably have more experience selling and maintaining Zeros than anyone other than perhaps Harlan at Hollywood Electrics.  :)

This is good for me, I like the idea of a list, I'm stuck between WOW and Americas Motorsports in Nashville, WOW is closer for me (I'm in Chattanooga).
