DC Drive components for sale - new stuff from 2012 never used
« on: February 27, 2022, 07:47:30 AM »

I bought an unfinished EV motorcycle conversion project from a guy here in Tucson. It was a 1985 Honda VF500 that he had everything needed to convert to a 72V DC electric drive system and chose some very good components. I bought it with the intention to finish the project but the 10-year old GBS batteries were shot and I don't really want to spend the money for new batteries.

Everything was purchased new in 2012 and has been sitting in a shop ever since. Some minor signs of age and being moved around a shop or mocked up on the bike but everything is 100% functional.

I am happy to work out payment via PayPal or Venmo if you are comfortable with that. I will ship everything properly packaged and insured and provide tracking immediately.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

Mars/Motenegy ME1003 DC brushed motor $500: was mounted to the bike frame and shows a bit of very mild oxidation on the aluminum case (rubbed most off with a Scotch Brite pad), shaft is fine, bearings and internals look good, commutator rings look brand new...this motor was purchased brand new in 2012 and has been sitting. I was unable to test it since the batteries were completely dead and I don't have a shop power supply big enough to drive it. Additional photos can be supplied but I won't take the rotor out. Comes with the sprocket too.

Alltrax AXE 7245 motor controller $500: brand new in 2012 and never used, in excellent physical condition (still looks new), comes with aluminum heat sink, I was able to easily find the comm cable and controller s/w online, seems like an awesome little controller for a simple and reliable EV!

Magura twist grip electronic throttle $50: 0-5kOhm electronic throttle to match up with AXE controller, will sell separately or throw in with the AXE 7245 controller if you buy that. Note the end of the rubber grip is bent over the throttle tube a bit. It could probably be fixed with a heat gun and a tug but I didn't want to mess with it.

elithion Lithiumate Lite BMS $300: brand new in 2012, comes with 3 positive end, 3 negative end, and 21 mid-cell boards, breakout module, USB cable, LEM current sensor), I set this system up with the batteries to see if I could recovery and charge them. The BMS is 100% functional and pretty slick. NOTE: I installed this system on the battery pack and tested it out. Had to cut the push connectors off so some wiring will be required to connect the cell boards together. There is a little damage to the USB connector center plastic guide piece on the master module. It broke off but cord still makes connection.

Elcon PFC 1500 charger $350: brand new in 2012 but never used, setup for a 24 cell series of lithium batteries, perfectly functional, no box but has original manual, power cord, and control cable (for relay control of charging by BMS), have the setup sheet showing charging program settings. NOTE: I set the charger up with the BMS and battery pack to test the basic functions. It seems to work just fine but only couldn't test actual charging as the batteries were completely dead/asleep and I did not want to go through the effort to "wake" them or risk a fire.

Sevcon 72V to 12V DC-DC converter $250: brand new in 2012, was installed on project frame for location but never even connected.

Gigavac GX15BA 200A contactor with 12V solenoid $75: brand new in 2012, was installed on project frame for location but never even connected. Comes with the resitor and diode too.

SW200 Contactor $50: I believe this is a 72V solenoid driven 200A contactor, same story, brand new never used.

Sprocket Specialists 68T rear sprocket $50: 7075-T6 structural aluminum, made for a 1985 Honda VF500 rear wheel but i will measure the bolt circle and other pertinent dimension and update this post, it probably fits a crapload of Honda's. Center diameter = 80mm Bolt Circle= 5x110mm NOTE: it's up to you to figure out if this fits your application or not.
