Zero SR/S Check Engine Light On (CEL)
« on: December 28, 2021, 03:30:00 AM »

This morning, I went in the garage to check the SOC of my SR/S. It was 0 Celsius. Since the SOC was at 46%, I plugged the charger to crank it up at 60% and an error code 28 popped up in the dash. This is the 12V Low Voltage Fault. The charger did not start and the CEL also turned ON. (According to the owner's manual, error code 28 will also turn On the CEL). I turned on the heating in the garage and plugged a charger on the 12V battery (after disconnected it). About an hour later, I plugged the charger and it turned ON normally (Level 1 at 1.3 Kw). However the CEL is still ON. WIll it disappear over time or is there a way to reset the CEL?

Thanks for your input

Try getting codes from the app. On my SR I was able to email myself the logs from the bike and there's a website you can upload them to in order to view the .bin file.

You may need to clear the code.  Check the Owner's Manual for the procedure.

Here is an update. After the bike was charged up to 60%, I did two cycle key On keyOff, and the CEL turned Off. BTW, all codes were cleared through the menu.

Bottom  line:
- yes the charger will refuse to kick on if the temperature is < 0 Celsius.
- error code 28 (12v low voltage fault) will also turn On the CEL. (ref. owners manual)
- 12v battery has to be checked and also charged sometimes  regardless of the fact that charging the Power Pack also charge the 12 v battery.
- CEL will eventually turn off if all conditions of malfunctions are also off.

And finally, Lithium battery don't like cold and neither of us!!
