Can you post some pictures with your electric plane, or a link?

You are right Tom, about the 20 amp prevalance.

After further pondering, I think I can handle my various charging source cases by selectively including a Thunderstruck controller (https://www.electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=8087.msg70648#msg70648) with a profile set for say 12 amp charging current.

I have 3 cases. Each case uses a base system of one Diginow controller with one charger and the safety/charge  switch switch activated:
  • For 120V/20A: base system. Input is 16 amp.
  • For 240/30A: base system + second charger using Thunderstruck on 12 amp profile. Input is 28 amp
  • For 240/40A: base system+ second charger connected to Diginow controller, Input is 32 amp.

Yes I built the plane, an eGull. I am just beginning the process of determining the best speeds to fly to get maximum range or maximum time in the air. To do that I have to do a series of tests to determine power vs speed.

Wanted to report the results of my test using a Thrunderstruck controller on one charger and Diginow on the other as mentioned  before:

It worked well. The Zero app reported the charging rate went from 3.1 kW to 5.5 kW. This literally saves me hours per charge.  ;D
