replacement instrument clusters - S/R
« on: October 01, 2021, 10:35:27 PM »

I took a spill last night and did some small damage. Unfortunately, the brake fluid cap broke off and splashed the insrtument cluster. So now I have brake fluid bleached plastic. I dont see this part listed on the AF1 racing catalog. Do they not sell this separate? I'm considering other options like wrapping, painting, or trying meguires trim restore.

The instrument cluster can only be purchased as a complete unit. It isn't supposed to be user serviceable, which partially explains why they don't sell discrete parts.

The unit wouldn't be waterproof, then.  You could buy a dead unit from a recycling place.

Apparently the newer dash (as on the FXE) will work on older bikes. If you do end up replacing the dash it might be worth considering an upgrade. Note, I've not done this myself - just heard it on here - so double-check before purchasing!

How were you able to confirm this?

I have a feeling I can clean it up. I'll try a few things and post the results. can't do anything for a while tho due to injuries

I'm sure I saw a post here as I don't use FB, but this is all I can find on it: https://www.facebook.com/groups/zmcowners/posts/4361622597240248/
