Zero FX + Paddle Tire
« on: October 19, 2021, 12:26:59 AM »

Did a search but haven't come up with much. Has anybody successfully run a paddle tire on a Zero FX for dune use? I recognize that the range would likely decrease, but curious by how much, and also whether a paddle tire will even fit the swing arm (depending on tire size obviously).

Following up on my own question, it looks like the stock rear tire is 120/80-18, and an 18" paddle tire would 110/100-18. Width obviously wouldn't be an issue, but by my calculation the tire would be roughly .5" taller. I guess as long as the bike has swing arm clearance, it wouldn't be an issue.

I'm going to need some video of an FX with a paddle tire going through some deep sand.

If I do it, I'll for sure share video.

And chain conversion, right? I can't imagine a belt would last 10 minutes.

Good point. Chain conversion is on my list. I'll bump it up the list before throwing a paddle tire on.
