zero FX experimental seat
« on: July 09, 2021, 06:50:14 AM »

A dozen years ago, a faux tank seemed reasonable for showing that "This is a motorcycle." I believe that we are past that notion and, to be honest, I'm rather tired of the plastic blob with nothing under it getting in my way. Another issue is the battery rail that the knees beat on when off road. If you have an FX with modular batteries, look in front of your right knee and behold the kneecap remover.

So I share: bend the kneecap remover out of harms way, pad the rails, and throw the tank in the trash.

I love riding the FX, now I can see right beside the front tire and my legs have something to grip on to.

Searching for solutions one experiment at a time. What do you think?

Well, you could have bought a 2009 Brammo Enertia if you aren't into fake gas tanks.  ;)

Thanks for the compliment. I place style after form and function, got lucky. With a few changes it should look less "homemade". Maybe a small bag on the top as well.

The flat seat makes the motorcycle more dirt worthy. I can slide to the back or way up front easily. The same is true with the knees on the flat sides, able to grip while moving around.

Very vertical look;) I don't like that. I want to go forward hehe

I agree, maybe a little wider at the front would look better. The middle can't be made more narrow, hence, vertical.

I kind of like the organic look to it, much more like an animal. Not an iron horse, but a steel cheetah.
